Join us for the week long Yin Yoga Teacher Training Intensive in February 2012. In its sixth session, the yin yoga TT intensive has grown to embody all that I hold dear by skillfully taking students on a journey of themselves through the paradigms of both East & West. The course content has been expertly reviewed by MD's, TCM Practitioners, and experienced Yoga Teachers ensuring that students leave with the ability to offer yin yoga classes that are grounded in western science and eastern philosophy. Collectively the faculty offers years of training and experience in clinical settings, as well as thousands of hours in training yoga and martial arts teachers. We hope you'll join us!
The Course:
Yin Yoga is a highly beneficial therapeutic practice that is available to all students at all levels. The power in this form of yoga is that it profoundly affects both the physical and energetic aspects of the self. It is the logical balance to a yang style of practice (i.e.: vinyasa yoga), and it has the added bonus of contributing to the mindfulness necessary for a successful meditation practice. Additionally, yin yoga is pivotal in affecting the functional mobility associated with a balanced and healthy body. The key to this practice is knowledge of both physical human anatomy and the energetic body (Meridian System/Nadis & the Chakra System).
Who Would Benefit From this Training?
This training would benefit teachers, practitioners and students alike. It can be used as a therapeutic treatment or as a personal practice (sadhana). You don’t need to have the desire to teach, only to fully immerse yourself in yoga.
Graduates are: Sports Medicine Specialists, RMT's, Thai Massage Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Psychotherapists, Yoga Teachers, Yoga Students who aim to move more deeply into their practice, Energy Healers, Martial Artists, Athletes & Physicians.

The sheer amount of thoughtful preparation and overall consideration of the course material and assignments raises this training and learning opportunity to a level on its own.
Tracey has put together a remarkably comprehensive manual brimming with useful references that supported our in class trainings, our home assignments and practices, and most importantly has served and will continue to serve me as a guide in my teaching and sharing of yin yoga.
This is a training that not only provides a wealth of important intellectual information in regards to anatomy and movement, yoga philosophy, traditional chinese medicine and the chakra system relating to yin yoga - but through the home assignments provides a very real and tangible personal experience to explore these elements.
Most importantly these assignments provide a base from which to explore ourselves, as teachers and as human beings. This training is taught from the heart and it is clear from the start that Tracey's passion and love for yin yoga and for sharing her knowledge and experience of the practice has strongly and positively guided the structure and experience of the training.
I recommend and highly encourage all yoga teachers, healers and any person who is committed to a path of personal growth to consider this training - you will not be disappointed."

As yoga practitioners and teachers we have many opportunities to enrich our lives and the lives of those around us. Attending Tracey's Yin Yoga Teacher Training (YYTT) belongs in that category of experience. From the volume and quality of material to the comprehensive and constructive (and loving!) feedback given on the assignments this program sets a very high standard. The program provides an opportunity to explore the yin yoga practice from all aspects: clear, concise and (dare I say it?) enthusiastic anatomy instruction; solid overviews of both yogic philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine; practical experience in designing and delivering a yin yoga practice and ongoing support in the form of continuing education modules for graduates. My personal experience of the course and of practicing and teaching in the method that Tracey has created has changed aspects of my practice, my teaching and my interactions with the people in my life. I am eternally grateful for the experience and highly recommend the training for those seeking to deepen their own practice and to enrich their lives.

There is a level of will and energy that comes with the commitment to move through Tracey’s yin yoga training program. It has been designed to provide the fundamental frameworks of yin yoga which are shared in a way that is simple and precise. Tracey has been able to organize the giant sea of yoga and break it down in a way that even the newest of yogi’s is able to follow, process, and comprehend the principals, anatomy, and postures of yin yoga. Intertwined with this, are expansive, creative and diverse methods of applying the wide range of knowledge gained in order to develop each students own teaching style and passions. Tracey is able to orchestrate a training program that is challenging and yet also tons of fun as she adds her own magical and warm light every time you are in her presence. While it is asked of you to practice self - discipline in both mind and body through assignments and homework and held accountable via a particular standard - there is unconditional love and support of the process pouring out of Tracey for all of her students. Tracey is a teacher that allows her students to be wherever they are while providing the space to expand as both a teacher and a student. The yin yoga training program is one that is filled with positive and unexpected possibilities. With the cultivation of trust, perseverance and patience, the potentials are great for not only for personal transformation as a yogi - but also allow for the growth and evolution of one's own self as a human being of this earth.

I just completed Tracey yin teacher's training and I was blown away! Tracey has constructed a teaching that goes beyond two weekends. The material and the way it was carefully chosen to unfold as the training progressed was balanced and well thought out. Tracey's love and passion for life, yin yoga and the chakras is an inspiration for any new or seasoned teacher. Highly recommended!!

A few years ago I was inspired to deepen my understanding of the practice of yoga. I was interested in the physical practice as much as the philosophy. I completed a wonderful 200 hour training in 2009 but even after that I felt that my body was not feeling the way I had expected or hoped. My shoulders were uncomfortable, my hamstrings were screaming and my hips were as tight as ever!
I knew that there was an answer for me. After spending one week at a retreat where we practiced daily, my hamstrings released and I experienced joy at the miracle of change. I discovered Yin Yoga!
Upon returning to Toronto, I looked for a yin class that fit my expectations and my schedule. I found Tracey Soghrati. I knew from the first class that I had found an expert yogini who could guide my practice. I practiced with Tracey throughout the next year learning the ways of my physical, emotional, and spiritual body. Perhaps, most importantly, the philosophies that Tracey shares throughout the physical yin practice have inspired a new approach to living my best life.
Recently having completed the yin yoga teacher training with Tracey, I have been gifted with a practice and philosophy that frees my body and my mind of limitations at every level.
Tracey teaches yin postures and brings yogic philosophy to life both on and off the mat. Her joy and the love she expresses are genuine. Her technical, scientific and philosophical knowledge is vast and you will bless yourself by allowing Tracey to guide your practice. A must have experience for anyone wishing to deepen their practice.
