When Tracey Soghrati found her yoga practice it was a bit like jumping off a cliff and discovering wings – heart pounding bliss coupled with a sigh of relief! The desire to share the benefits of yoga led her to leave her Nursing career in order to teach therapeutic yoga full-time.
Tracey’s vision is to share yoga philosophy & practice in a manner that is authentic, accessible and applicable to modern day life. Her classes are grounded in a sound knowledge of the physical body and a humble perspective on the power of the mind. She seeks to incorporate self-inquiry as a tool of self-realization in every practice. She specializes in delivering classes (yin yoga & vinyasa) that are healing and invigorating for all levels of the body.
Tracey has the honour of co-directing Spynga's 200-hr yoga teacher training with Sari Nisker. As well, she is the director of Toronto's first 40-hr yin yoga teacher training program.
Tracey has completed over 1000 hours in yoga teacher training of various lineages (Jivamukti, Yin, Prenatal, Yoga Therapy) and her primary influences include Sharon Gannon & David Life, Bernie Clark, Sarah Powers, Susi Hately Aldous & Jeannine Woodall.
Her formal education includes post-secondary studies in molecular biology, nursing, critical care nursing, parenting/child development, health education, perinatal care, swedish massage and thai yoga massage.
She has worked as a critical care nurse in a busy downtown intensive care unit and as a health educator for women and children. She is grateful for this amazing life and for the support and love of her husband, family and friends.
