What is Yoga?

Yoga is a physical practice stemming from ancient roots.  The yoga asanas (postures) transform the body into a stronger, more resilient form.

 

Yoga is an energetic practice. It aims to move the chi/prana more efficiently and productively.  The postures stimulate the meridian/nadi system in the subtle body, so that optimal energetic function is restored.

 

Yoga is a philosophy.  The ancient texts of yoga guide us through the practice of self-inquiry.  Self-inquiry allows us to understand ourselves, so that we can then understand others.

 

Yoga is a way to train the mind. The discipline of a daily practice illuminates the magic  which exists in repetition.
